My Work

As a Certified Integral Master Coach™, I draw from a rich tapestry of methodologies to develop a customized approach for each unique client.

With formal qualifications in psychology, mental health, yoga and business I have, over the past 17 years, focused my professional development in Coaching and Facilitation and have studied with both Integral Coaching Canada and the Tavistock Consultancy in the UK.

Examples of current and recent clients include Investec Private Bank, Coronation Fund Managers, British American Tobacco, Red Cross Children’s Hospital, University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, Old Mutual, The Clothing Bank, and Tourvest Travel Services. I have been an executive coach on an Executive Development Programme for Women with Johnson & Johnson International from 2009-2011 and on a number of Leadership and Executive Development Programmes at Old Mutual in South Africa and other countries in Africa from 2012-2015. I have been a faculty member with Integral Coaching Canada since April 2015 and work with students of coaching from all over the world.

From 2011 to 2015 I was one of 20 coaches to coach women on a two year Enterprise Development Programme at The Clothing Bank in Cape Town, South Africa. The mission of the Clothing Bank is to “Empower unemployed mothers through enterprise development so that they can become financially and socially independent”.

My preference is to coach individuals in leadership roles who are at a point in their career and personal life where they are asking questions of themselves that can be addressed in a coaching relationship. I am inspired by the growth and change I facilitate in individuals. My clients respect me for creating a safe and open space that enables them to achieve outcomes that deeply matter.

Rooted in my own commitment to living with personal integrity and authenticity, as a coach my aim is to enable people to grow and advance the health, meaning and integrity of their lives, in and outside the workplace.

I am originally from the West Coast of Canada and have been a permanent South African resident living in Cape Town for the past 15 years. I am a mother of two young daughters and am married to a South African. In my free time I enjoy trail running and yoga, reading and writing and exploring new places. My intention is to, as much as possible, maintain a healthy balance in my life.

My Life

I grew up on the west coast of Canada and have been living in Cape Town, South Africa since November 2001. I’ve been married for fourteen years and am a mother of two young girls. I’ve run my own business in the field of organisational and leadership development for the past 13 years – before that I was an Occupational Therapist working in mental health in Vancouver, Canada and with kids with learning disabilities in London, England. I’ve been successful at leading a happy and balanced life that has included plenty of exercise, personal and professional development, and the opportunity and fortune to travel regularly. My interests are varied, from reading to music to travel to general health and well-being (healthy eating, exercise, alternative therapies etc.).

I’d say I’m a down to earth, natural, what you see is what you get, kind of woman. I feel fulfilled by deep and ‘real’ conversations. I’m an introvert – I’m energized by my alone time but I’m good socially albeit a bit shy at first – rarely do others know that groups exhaust me. I was born to New Yorker parents who migrated north into Canada during the time of the Vietnam War and then west to British Columbia. I was raised in a gorgeous artsy bohemian town on Kootenay Lake on the west coast of Canada called Nelson – a place I feel very proud to say I come from. As a child I traveled a lot with my parents including a 3 month journey from Canada to Australia. This trip included a 2-week journey across the Indian Ocean (with only one sighting of land) aboard the Brigantine Soren Larsen, a 140 foot sailing ship. I’ve lived on 4 continents and in 5 countries and have traveled and explored in many more.

As my teacher and colleague once said to me, I am a ‘textured woman’. I’m an earth-child at heart – I feel most at home in nature, at outdoor music festivals and on my yoga mat; I eat tofu, falafels and salads and I juice regularly: I love Tracey Chapman, John Lennon, Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell (plus many others); I love yoga, hiking and trail running; I’m most often found wearing sandals and comfortable clothes; and I love rain storms, fog and the smell of the ocean. I have a strong and rich academic background and 13 years of experience in the field of organizational and leadership development. I’m a wife, mother, daughter and friend. I don’t like to miss out on anything, I try to do and be everything much to my exhaustion! I’m ambitious and sensitive and I have strong opinions. I’m fun and I’m naughty but only if you’ve got a good eye for naughtiness (!) and I enjoy being different. I have big dreams and aspirations and I work hard to make them happen.

My greatest joys in life include time with my family, being in nature (mountains, forests, oceans, lakes, rivers and beaches), long trail runs, sunshine, early mornings, dancing and doing yoga to rockin music. Oh yes and I love margaritas and mexican food!
